Executive Council includes the Office of the Premier, Deputy Minister’s and Associate Deputy Minister’s Offices,Cabinet Coordination and Ministry Services, Policy Coordination Office, and Intergovernmental Relations. The Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) leads the coordination and advancement of Alberta’s priorities as they relate to other governments across Canada. IGR works with other ministries across the Government of Alberta todevelop collaborative approaches and expand multilateral and bilateral partnerships.

Utilize your analytical and critical thinking skills, along with your strong interpersonal relationship skills to support the advancement of Alberta’s international priorities Reporting to the Director, Mission and Visits Planning in the International Relations branch of Executive Council -Intergovernmental Relations this position is the Team Lead, supervising Mission and Visits Planning (MVP) Coordinators. Under the direction of the Director, your role as the Team Lead is to maintain a close, interactive relationship with department, Ministerial and Premier staff focusing on the management, development and implementation of Premier and Ministerial missions out of the province. You will also be responsible for the coordination of incoming visits of senior government delegations and foreign dignitaries.

Some of your key responsibilities include: Ensuring the success and coordination, development and implementations of cost-effective logistical plans and briefings for incoming visits and out-of-province mission undertaken by the Premier and Minister of IGR. Providing leadership, supervision, and direction to unionized employees, mission coordinators, to ensure the Mission and Visits Coordinator team works in a cohesive team environment. Reviewing, managing and tracking expenses related to mission projects.

Providing financial consultative services to the unit by developing and enhancing budget, forecasting, analytical, communication and management information tools. Assisting the Director in the strategic coordination of International Relations within the department and government wide. Within the unit, assisting and participating in Mission and Visits Planning functions for the Director as required.
