<p>What You Will Get To Do</p><p>The successful candidate will have a positive impact on our corporate culture by demonstrating the Town's CARE core values (Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Engaged) through daily interactions with individuals at all levels of the organization, external contacts and elected officials.</p><p>By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.</p><p>Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Accounting, the Part-Time Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing support to various Financial Services accounting functions.</p><ul><li>Process daily bank deposits and arrange for armoured transportation pick up</li><li>Scan cheques and upload to bank</li><li>Enter debit card deposits in Workday</li><li>Balance, prepare reconciliations and reports for accounts and statements on a recurring basis;</li><li>Work and liaise with the team and other departments to provide information related to deposits and scanned cheques</li><li>Prepare working papers and provides assistance as needed with external auditor</li><li>Provides other back-up support within Financial Services as needed; and,</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>Who You Are</p><p>Our Financial Services team is looking for a self-motivated, solutions-oriented team player. You convey your thoughts clearly and concisely. Using your excellent communication and interpersonal skills you foster a collaborative team environment among co-workers, and work well both independently and as part of a team.</p><p>You are excellent at prioritization and time management, and can work under pressure to meet deadlines. You love to research and analyze problems: identifying, gathering and processing relevant information to determine possible solutions, evaluate them and make recommendations. As far as you're concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right, every single time. You're always happy to learn new things and to help build a working environment that encourages and cultivates new ideas.</p><p>What You Bring To Our Team</p><p>As the successful applicant, you must possess:</p><ul><li>A three year post-secondary diploma/degree in Accounting, Finance or other equivalent with Accounting Major;</li><li>Workday Finance experience would be an asset;</li><li>Completion or enrolment in the Municipal Accounting and Finance Program (MAFP);</li><li>A minimum of two (2) years of directly related work experience, preferably in a Municipal finance environment; and</li><li>Intermediate level computer skills (MS Office, accounting related systems).</li></ul><p>Salary Range/Hourly Rate</p><p>$ $26.59</p><p>Hybrid Information</p><p>Frontline</p><p>Hours</p><p>Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.</p><p>Closing Date</p><p>October 3, 2025</p><p>Our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Antiracism</p><p>At the Town of Whitby, we view holistic inclusion as the pathway to achieving healthy relationships, inclusive excellence and fostering a culture where everyone can thrive.
