<p><h3>Senior HRBP, People & Culture</h3>

<p>The Senior HRBP People & Culture is a key partner to the business leaders within their client group, focused on developing leadership, driving engagement and retention, leading initiatives that elevate employee experience, satisfaction and success. As a Sr. HRBP, People & Culture, you will report to the Director of People and Culture of Professional Services and serve as a member of Syntax’s People team. This role will have one direct report supporting the Global SAP Delivery business group in Canada and the US. It is a strategic and hands‑on role where you are the connection between the Centres of Excellence (COEs) and business lines to address talent management, talent development, employee engagement and retention, and HR compliance. The role is hybrid with a requirement to be in the Toronto office on scheduled days of the week.</p>
<h3>Key Accountabilities</h3>
<b>Business Partner</b>
<ul>
<li>Partner with business unit leaders and the People team COEs to ensure continuous communication and connectivity between the People function and the business.</li>
<li>Administer effective HR programs with a focus on talent management, talent development, employee engagement, labour relations, and HR compliance.</li>
<li>Provide subject matter expertise across department and functional lines in HR related projects and programs.</li>
</ul>
<b>Employee engagement & employee relations</b>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrate continuous knowledge in updated laws and regulations of HR programs and contribute to the design of procedures and forms for policy implementation.</li>
<li>Manage the Employee Engagement actions with client groups.</li>
<li>Employee point of contact for all HR support with information requests and data updates.</li>
<li>Ensure accurate and timely data entry of new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, and all other personnel changes into HR systems.</li>
<li>Conduct exit interviews and communicate important exit information to employees in advance of their last day; ensure final pay is prepared accurately and in accordance with regulations.</li>
<li>Assist the Finance department with payroll and benefit‑related events as required.</li>
<li>Uphold the company’s core values and behaviours with the Code of Conduct.</li>
<li>Effectively manage claims (health and safety, short/long‑term disability, etc.) with providers and government entities.</li>
<li>Provide solutions to complex employee issues.</li>
<li>Investigate and resolve employee relations matters.</li>
<li>Maintain all employee documentation and information respecting privacy laws.</li>
<li>Guide the client group on DE&I programming for a diverse and inclusive culture at Syntax.</li>
</ul>
<b>Coaching and development</b>
<ul>
<li>Bring a global approach and vision to the client group.</li>
<li>Partner with Managers to coach them on employment legislation across activities and facilitate training and leadership development.</li>
<li>Coach leadership on performance gaps, providing guidance towards appropriate learning.</li>
<li>Run the Talent Mapping process with the assigned client group, identifying High Potential employees for further development.</li>
<li>Identify talent at risk of leaving and create retention plans with the Total Rewards and Talent Development COEs.</li>
<li>Duties may be assigned or modified at any time to meet business needs.</li>
</ul>
<b>Office Management</b>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate office administration and procedures for the Toronto office.</li>
<li>Take ownership of daily site operations (including managing office space and ordering supplies).</li>
<li>Oversee the organization and coordination of office meetings, corporate events, and training events when needed.</li>
<li>Support and lead Corporate Social Responsibility activities.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications & Experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated strong Human Resources expertise across several HR functions and drove HR leadership and functional excellence.</li>
<li>Skilled coach, able to develop leaders.</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Psychology, or related field required; experience may substitute for a degree.</li>
<li>5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with emphasis in supporting a technology workforce.</li>
<li>Demonstrated business acumen and leadership ability with HR analysis and decision support.</li>
<li>Current HR knowledge of legal regulations and practices for Canada and the US.</li>
</ul>
