Job title: Training Coordinator (Intermediate)

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Contract length: 01 year


Start date: June 10th

Schedule: Mon-Fri (40 hours/week) Hybrid


Description:

Our client is a major North American energy company based in Calgary, Alberta – Canada, that develops and operates natural gas pipelines, storage facilities and power-generation plants, with focus on renewable energy sources.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with business areas and vendors to schedule classroom training, contact vendor, manage participant registration, and complete course completions within our learning management system (LMS).

> Organize and complete activities on multiple tasks concurrently and in a timely manner.


> Handle timely changes.

  • Ensure appropriate training vendors are chosen to meet training requirements and support the new vendor process.
  • Maintain a central training calendar and work with local area contacts to manage training logistics.
  • Liaison with the Business Unit Training Coordinators and Corporate Training for system, reporting and governance matters.

  • Reporting:

> Communicate and maintain monthly training report.

> Conduct detailed analysis and trends data.


> Support audits, emergency response projects and other areas by quickly and effectively manipulating data and reporting on information mined from our LMS.

> Find innovative ways to improve reporting.

  • Create a feedback process to assess quality of training delivery and ensure training is continuously improved.
  • Facilitate, support, and compile the annual training plans and budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders regarding fit for purpose and sustainable training solutions.
  • Develop appropriate training programs using internal and external resources.
  • Other tasks, as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education such as a Diploma or University bachelor’s degree in business.
  • 6 years’ experience supporting Learning & Development, Human Resources, Process Coordination, or other technically related roles.
  • Proven experience in training needs assessment and adult learning principles.
  • 3 years’ experience in the Energy/Utility industry or similar technical environment.
  • Proven history in the implementation of learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training to adult learners as well as the ability to complete assessments and training evaluations.
  • Experience with learning management systems and enablement technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate experience and proficiency with various business software applications: Success Factors SAP, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Power BI).
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and facilitation skills.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently.
  • Detail oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills and must be able to manage rapidly shifting priorities as well as multiple projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing customer insights and secondary research to inform
  • Organizational decision making of applicable solutions.

This position requires candidates to:

Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract (record) for review.

Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training.
