Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). $45p/h – Nelson

We are looking for a compassionate and caring LPN with a passion for the elderly to join our team at our beautiful Long-Term Care Facilities located in the Vancouver Islands on a temporary basis Locations: _ Nelson,BC _ Contract: Temporary contract (3-6 _month approx._) with possibility of extension. Start Date: _The sooner the better_ Schedule: To Be Decided (Full-time schedule is guaranteed.) Compensation: $45.00 p/h plus travel expense, accommodation and meal reimbursement will be provided by Staff On Call. _ _ _ _ Responsibilities and Duties: Performs assessments. Plans, implements, and provides personal and nursing care to residents.

Administers oral and subcutaneous medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures Directly supervises care staff to meet resident’s needs. Performs other duties as assigned. _ _ _ _ Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program. Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC.

Current CPR and First Aid certification. Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Knowledge and background in Dementia care (preferred). _ _ _ _ To mitigate the risk COVID-19 transmission among persons in our care, patients, residents and staff, an order under the Public Health Act was enacted to limit movement of staff between long-term care facilities.

While this order is in place, staff are limited to working in only one (1) private long-term care hospital (facility), licensed long-term care facility, registered assisted living facility, stand-alone extended care hospital, or provincial mental health facility. The successful applicant for this job posting must provide satisfactory proof, or have such proof on file, that they have received the COVID-19 vaccination and any required COVID-19 booster vaccination. This requirement shall be waived if the applicant has not received the vaccination due to any legislated protected human rights grounds.

In such a case, and upon presentation of sufficient proof, the company shall make reasonable attempts to accommodate the applicant to carry out their role where possible recognizing that the health and safety of other employees and residents will be a priority.
