Firefly Spark is a mobile app that helps you turn an idea (“coffee at 5?”) into a real meet-up in minutes. Our V2 is map-first, simple, and built to make meeting people offline feel easy and safe.

We launched in Ontario and are prepping a focused V2 with a cleaner, more human mobile experience.

The Role

We are hiring one Lead Designer or one to two Core Designers for our mobile app. You will set the UX vision if you lead, or you will be a high-impact individual contributor if you join as core. You will not write code. Your craft is UX, UI, motion, and product storytelling.

What You’ll Do

• Own the mobile product from discovery to handoff: research, flows, wires, high-fi, prototypes, usability tests
• Lead and mentor a nimble pod, give sharp feedback, raise quality quickly
• Design and polish core V2 flows
• Evolve our Figma design system: tokens, components, motion
• Define success metrics and run quick tests to improve conversion and retention

What You’ll Bring

• A portfolio with strong mobile app work and shipped features or ship-ready prototypes
• Excellent interaction design, visual systems, and microcopy instincts
• Fluency in Figma and prototyping. FigJam, Framer, or Principle are a plus
• Comfort running quick interviews and lightweight usability tests
• A bias for simple, fast, legible UX and collaborative energy

Nice to Have

• Graphic design experience
• Social or location-based product experience
• Growth UX for activation and re-engagement
• iOS and Android patterns, accessibility, motion guidelines
