Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving business success and ensuring long-term sustainability? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join Vancouver Pile Driving, a key business unit within the Carlson Group, as our Vice President of Operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining the business unit strategy.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee a portfolio of construction projects, ensuring alignment with the business unit strategy.
  • Compliance: Ensure project compliance with safety and regulatory policies to meet strategic goals.
  • Leadership: Lead, motivate, and support project management teams, reporting progress monthly to the General Manager.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the development of budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Financial Improvement: Review and improve project financials and risk management, providing monthly project status reports.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze and address problematic business issues with effective leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by analyzing non-problematic business issues.
  • Business Development: Assist with business development and report progress monthly.
  • Sustainability: Develop business opportunities for the long-term sustainability of a portfolio and support other divisions within the business unit and the Carlson Group.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate relationships with key partners, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry operations, trends, competitors, and drivers to inform company strategy.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field. Professional Engineer designation and/or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of project management experience in the construction industry, with a preference for marine or major projects.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in leadership, strategic planning, and achieving business goals.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong ability to analyze financial reports and make informed decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Compliance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Industry Insight: Understanding of market trends, competition, and industry dynamics.

Salary: $175,000 – $195,000
