Overview of Position:

Layfield Geosynthetics Canada is seeking a Warehouse Coordinator who can lead and maintain the safe and efficient operation of the warehouse, as well as the distribution and warehousing of finished goods throughout the assigned location.


You will work with talented sales and logistics teams onsite in Richmond BC and remotely with various Layfield team members throughout Canada.

You are a self-starter and enjoy interacting with internal and external customers. You have excellent time management and organizational skills necessary for adapting to changes in daily schedules.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Safety program, policies, and procedures in the assigned work areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service to truck drivers, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Verify quantities, weights and conditions of all goods being shipped and received.
  • Obtain freight rates for internal/external customers upon request.
  • Make shipping arrangements with freight carriers for all sales orders not being picked up by customer.
  • Notify Customer Service/Sales when product(s) is ready for customer pick-up.
  • Unload, receive and process paperwork for incoming shipments from suppliers and internal transfers.
  • Document all goods returned (RMA) from customers.
  • Select &/or schedule carrier(s) for outgoing shipments and capture freight against sales orders in Shipping App.
  • Negotiate rates and special freight quotes with carrier(s) as required.
  • Review and process shipping & receiving documentation for Procurement and Accounting (via Microsoft Lists or printed Shipping Recap)
  • Responsible for organization and layout of the warehouse and outside storage areas as well as the proper use and maintenance of equipment used in the warehouse.
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the warehouse and outside areas.
  • Conduct periodic cycle counts of inventory.
  • Participate in projects as assigned by Supply Chain Manager &/or Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Provide input on or make recommendations for improvements to warehouse operation.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • 3 years of previous warehousing experience related to freight carriers, shipping, receiving and customer service.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
  • Experience in freight and facility management.
  • Valid Forklift Certification.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Completion of Grade 12. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

This is a full-time permanent position located in Richmond BC. Normal hours will be 8 hrs. per day Monday to Friday. Actual hours of work may vary depending on workload and shipping schedules.

Some lifting is required, and PPE must be worn at all times.
