Here's what you'd do:

  • Our firm is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Corporate Lawyer to join our dynamic team in Ontario.
  • You will be a critical part of our growing practice, working alongside senior partners and providing legal services to a diverse range of clients, including individuals and businesses.
  • Draft and review wills, powers of attorney, trusts, and other estate planning documents for clients in corporate, business, and personal contexts. Advise corporate clients on succession planning, shareholder agreements, and tax-efficient estate strategies.
  • Provide counsel on complex estate matters, including corporate asset transfer and family business succession.
  • Represent clients in estate administration, including probating wills and navigating challenges to estates.
  • Collaborate with other departments (tax, real estate, litigation) to offer comprehensive legal services.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, from routine estate matters to complex, high-value estates, ensuring timely delivery of services.
  • Engage in client consultations and provide ongoing legal advice on corporate governance and related estate planning concerns.
  • Assist in the creation of business succession strategies and prepare documentation to implement such plans.
  • Draft and negotiate documents related to charitable giving, corporate restructuring, and other related estate-planning matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant estate law, tax regulations, and other legal changes that affect wills, estates, and corporate planning..

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in wills and estates law, with a focus on corporate matters and estate planning
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in estate planning, corporate law, and estate administration, along with a proven ability to manage client relationships and work on complex legal matters.


Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of estate law, tax planning, and corporate governance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong research, drafting, and analytical abilities.
  • Called to the Ontario Bar and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being proactive in taking on independent work.
  • High level of professional integrity and adherence to ethical standards
