Job Title: Manager, Strategic Sourcing & Compliance

Location: Mississauga, ON

Reports To: President, Canada


Position Summary

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing & Compliance, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement, vendor management, product sourcing, and compliance reporting to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable supply of goods and services. This role ensures that inventory requirements are met, vendor relationships are built and maintained, and compliance obligations under Federal and Extended Producer Responsibility (FRP & EPR) programs are effectively managed. The position works cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Regulatory teams to support business growth while maintaining product integrity and supply chain efficiency.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

  • Oversee day-to-day procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials, packaging, and other goods.
  • Manage inventory levels through monitoring of min/max reports, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to enhance quality, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity.
  • Source and evaluate new products that align with business growth and market trends.
  • Lead negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis.


Vendor & Product Management

  • Establish, maintain, and strengthen vendor relationships to support long-term business objectives.
  • Monitor vendor performance, quality, and compliance to agreed-upon standards.
  • Manage product lifecycle, including item creation, code setup, and product integrity validation.
  • Ensure product data accuracy within ERP and reporting systems.

 

Compliance & Reporting

  • Lead compliance reporting related to Federal and Extended Producer Responsibility (FRP & EPR) programs.
  • Collaborate with vendors to obtain and validate compliance data.
  • Work with internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Legal) to meet all reporting obligations.
  • Stay informed on changing regulations and ensure company practices remain compliant.
  • Prepare compliance and sustainability reports for internal leadership and external regulatory bodies.


Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Support cross-functional projects that improve sourcing efficiency and vendor performance.
  • Provide guidance and training to procurement and compliance support staff as required.
  • Develop best practices for supplier selection, contract management, and compliance monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor management, contract negotiation, and procurement best practices.
  • Experience managing compliance programs, preferably related to FRP, EPR, or sustainability initiatives.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SCMP, CPSM, CPPB) considered an asset.
