On-the-job Trainer
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an On-the-job Trainer to join one of Canada's leading Aviation companies on a full-time basis, sitting out of Calgary AB. The hours for this role will be Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. A successful candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between classroom instruction and workplace performance. This role focuses on providing hands-on coaching, mentoring, and skill assessment to post-graduate trainees within Operations. The OJT ensures that trainees can apply their knowledge effectively in real-world production environments and are fully prepared for job-readiness on the floor.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing training in the aerospace industry.
- Experience working in a manufacturing role, specifically using sheet metal.
- Strong knowledge of power tools and how to use them.
- Ability to train multiple team members and act as the primary point of contact for training-related inquiries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Plus
- Technical degree or diploma in Aerospace Engineering is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Mentorship & Coaching: Provide on-floor leadership by ensuring proper use of power tools and overseeing daily sheet metal operations to maintain safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Skill Demonstration: Show operational procedures and best practices on the production floor for safe, accurate task replication.
- Performance Feedback: Observe trainee performance in real time and deliver constructive feedback for improvement.
- Competency Tracking: Document trainee progress, skill sign-offs, and OJT records per program standards.
- Program Enhancement: Work with training and operations teams to improve curriculum and delivery methods.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure all training activities meet company standards and policies.
