<p>Our client is a well-established, highly respected commercial general contractor specializing in large-scale retail new construction projects across Western Canada. Known for their strong client relationships, disciplined project delivery, and collaborative culture, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex retail builds from preconstruction through closeout.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a leadership role suited for a seasoned construction professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings a solutions-oriented mindset, and has a proven track record delivering ground-up retail projects on schedule and on budget.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Lead full lifecycle project management for commercial retail new build projects, from preconstruction and contract execution through turnover and warranty</li><li>Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and reporting</li><li>Manage and mentor Project Managers, Coordinators, and site teams as required</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, consultants, and key stakeholders</li><li>Review contracts, scopes, drawings, and specifications to mitigate risk and ensure alignment</li><li>Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers, including contract negotiations and performance oversight</li><li>Monitor project progress and proactively resolve schedule, cost, and constructability challenges</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company best practices</li><li>Lead project meetings, including OAC meetings and internal management reviews</li><li>Drive closeout activities, including deficiencies, documentation, and financial reconciliation</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>4+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong focus on retail new build projects</li><li>Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or equivalent leadership role with a general contractor</li><li>Demonstrated success managing multiple projects or large, complex retail builds simultaneously</li><li>In-depth understanding of construction contracts, schedules, budgets, and cost controls</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills</li><li>Ability to problem-solve under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-moving environments</li><li>Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>What's Offered</b></p><ul><li>Opportunity to work with a top-tier commercial builder delivering high-profile retail projects</li><li>Competitive compensation package, including salary, bonus, and benefits</li><li>Long-term career growth with a stable and respected organization</li><li>Collaborative leadership team and strong project support structure</li></ul>
