Description
The Licensed Tradesperson maintains, diagnoses, tests, and repairs the material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime in compliance with health and safety standards.
Job Details
Schedule: Monday to Friday 07:30am to 16:00pm
Location: 2675 Avenue C North, Saskatoon, SK S7L7M8
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular preventative / predictive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to maintain equipment in a good state of repair in compliance with health and safety standards
- Diagnose and repair Material Handling Equipment mechanical or electrical failures to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime to reduce downstream impact to service delivery
- Inspect and monitor Material Handling Equipment and related facilities
- Prepare and maintain reports (e.g., safety, operational)
- Coordinate and document work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Education
- Completion of Specialized Courses Normally Taught in Community or Recognized Specialty Colleges Consisting of About Three Academic Years
- For electrician roles, a Licensed Industrial Electrician Certificate442A) is required
Experience
- 5 years of experience either as an electrician or millwright that installs, maintains, diagnoses, or repairs Material Handling Equipment.
- MEchanical Expereince on industrial equipment
- 3-5 years as a trades person
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) expereince is an asset
Qualifications
- Licensed Electrician
- Able to read and understand electrical drawings
- Good knowledge of control circuits
- Experience with going online with PLC (AB, Siemens) to assess an operational issue.
- Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- Working knowledge and ability to weld in an industrial environment (ARC & MIG welding) recognized tradecertification preferred (ITABC Level A or B equivalent).
- Previous experience with belt conveyors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must successfully complete practical examination by company
- Must be able to use word, excel, outlook express.
- Must possess personal tools as identified by company
- Driver License - Class 5
